Bulgaria Vignette Prices 2026 – All Types & Rates

This page will give you a clear, no-nonsense overview of Bulgaria’s official e-vignette prices.

All vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes pay the same rate, whether you’re driving a car, van, or motorhome.

You can choose from six different validity options (Weekend, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual), so it’s easy to match your vignette to exactly how long you’ll be on Bulgarian roads.

For each vignette option that you can buy at vignettebulgaria.com, you’ll see the official price in EUR, alongside our service fee. Prices are displayed in EUR by default, but you can switch to your preferred currency. There are no hidden costs—what you see is exactly what you pay.

Bulgaria Vignette Prices for Vehicles Under 3.5 Tonnes

Towing a trailer? Your standard e-vignette covers both your car and trailer, as long as the combined weight stays under 3.5 tonnes. If your car and trailer combined exceed 3.5 tonnes, you’ll need an additional vignette for the trailer. The price for a trailer vignette is exactly the same as the regular vignette.

All prices include VAT and apply to every vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes with four or more wheels. The official rates are set by the National Toll Administration (NTA) / Road Infrastructure Agency at bgtoll.bg and are the same regardless of where you purchase your e-vignette. Our service fee covers order processing and support in your own language, currency conversion, payment with your preferred method, our fine guarantee, and fast digital delivery. Prices last checked on April 19, 2026 at bgtoll.bg.

Exempt Vehicles and Special Cases

Not every vehicle travelling on Bulgarian roads needs a vignette.

Fully exempt:

Motorcycles, mopeds, and three-wheelers

Or any vehicle with fewer than 4 wheels

Agricultural and forestry machinery

Registered under the relevant Bulgarian law.

Government and emergency vehicles

Ministry of Interior, National Security, Armed Forces, and ambulance services.

Disability exemption

Drivers with 50%+ registered disability are entitled to one free annual e-vignette per year. Apply directly via bgtoll.bg.

Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes

Don’t use e-vignettes at all. They use a separate distance-based toll system instead. This is operated by bgtoll.bg.

TOLL Guide for Vehicles Over 3.5 Tonnes

No eco discounts in Bulgaria.

Unlike some European countries, Bulgaria doesn’t offer a discount for electric, plug-in hybrid, or CNG vehicles. Every vehicle with four or more wheels and up to 3.5 tonnes pays the same standard rate, regardless of fuel type. We’re aware that some websites claim otherwise, but that’s not correct.

Bridge and Ferry Crossings into Bulgaria

If you’re entering Bulgaria from Romania, you’ll need to cross the Danube River. That means paying a bridge toll or a ferry fee in addition to your vignette. These are separate and paid at the crossing point. We recommend sorting both your e-vignette and the bridge crossing in advance where possible.

Seasonal alternative

Ferry crossings - Oryahovo, Nikopol, Svishtov

Slower and more seasonal than the bridges. Good alternatives when bridge traffic is heavy or your route favours a different part of the Danube. Motorcycles cross both Danube bridges free of charge.

The two Danube bridges are usually the fastest and most reliable crossings year-round.

Danube Bridge 2 at Vidin is the newer of the two and is generally quicker to cross.

Danube Bridge 1 at Ruse was undergoing large-scale reconstruction during our early April visit, but it still moved efficiently. Crossings typically take only a few minutes, and both sides have well-developed parking, shops, and petrol stations.

The three ferry crossings at Oryahovo, Nikopol, and Svishtov are slower and more seasonal. They’re good alternatives when bridge traffic is heavy or when your route favours a different part of the Danube, but they’re not generally the first choice for a direct journey. Motorcycles cross both Danube bridges free of charge.

Bridge and ferry fees are set by the local operating authorities on each side of the border. Prices verified on April 19, 2026. Pay in local currency (RON on the Romanian side, EUR widely accepted). Card payment acceptance varies by crossing.
